Main timer screen

This is the main screen used in managing the BigTimer. Click on any orange call-out to read about the specific item and its function, or click on a different topic on the left hand side of your screen.
List view

This is a list of all entries for the currently opened schedule.

Day selector

This is the "Day selector" - click on the day you would like to display the schedule for

|
ALL option

Click on "ALL" to display the switching schedule for all channels simultaneously
|
|
|
Channels option

Click on any channel number to display the switching schedule for that channel only.

|
|
Insert button

Add a single schedule cycle (sequential ON and OFF events for one channel). Click here to view the update screen.

|
|
Change button

Update/edit a single pre-existing schedule entry. Click here to view the update screen.
|
|
|
Delete button

Delete a single schedule entry.
|
|
|
Copy

Use this to copy the previous day's scheduling, either for one channel at a time, or for all channels simultaneously
|

|
Print button

Print the schedule as shown in the list. The printout will be set to match the screen, in other words, if the screen is currently limited to displaying only channel 3, the printout will also be limited to only channel 3. Note that the printout will always print the entire week even if you have selected a specific day above.

View full schedule

Use this option to display the schedule in a chronological list, showing all days simultaneously, for one or all channels.

|
Timer search

Click here to initiate a search of all serial port numbers from 1 to 50 - the system will stop searching once all fifty port number have been searched, or until the timer is found.

|
Import schedule

This option will read the schedule programmed into the timer, and display it on the left hand side if successful.

Export schedule

This option will export the schedule shown on the left into the timer. Once completely exported, the schedule will be downloaded and checked to ensure that it completely matches that shown on the left, to obtain absolute certainty that it was fully and accurately exported.

Save schedule

Use this option to save the currently shown schedule into a file that can be stored on your computer. Click here for more information.

Open schedule

This option opens a previously saved schedule and places it into the list at left, ready for editing or exporting to the timer. Click here for more information.

Adjust timer

Click here to synchronise the timer with your current computer clock.
|
|
|
Channel test

Clicking any of the four channel ON test buttons will switch on the selected channel to enable testing of the timer and its wiring, and clicking the corresponding OFF button will turn it off again.

Open the online help (this document)

Quit button

Click to exit the timer program
